  • Inflation in Kendari City in December 2020 was recorded at 0.45 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.28. Of the 90 cities, 87 cities experienced inflation and 3 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Gunungsitoli (North Sumatra) at 1.87 percent with a CPI of 107.85 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Tanjung Selor (North Kalimantan) at 0.05 percent with a CPI of 102.47.
  • Inflation that occurred in Kendari City was caused by an increase in the price index in the transportation group by 1.27 percent; food, beverage, and tobacco group 0.72 percent; clothing and footwear group 0.49 percent; health group 0.18 percent; equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group 0.1 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group at 0.01 percent. Groups that experienced deflation were the recreation, sports and culture group at 0.08 percent and the personal care and other services group at 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the housing, water, electricity, and household fuels group; education group; and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group did not experience any changes / was relatively stable.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation include air transport, flying fish / benggol fish, milkfish / sponge fish, eggs, anchovies, mackerel / mackerel, banyar fish / gembolo fish / aso-aso fish, long beans, fish. selar / tude fish, skipjack / scales, and shallots.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation include red chilies, water spinach, Moringa leaves, eggplant, carrots, online 4-wheeled vehicle rates, gold jewelry, lime / limes, bottled water and spinach.
