  • The combined inflation of 2 CPI cities in Southeast Sulawesi in May 2021 was recorded at 1.13 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.40.
  • Kendari City experienced inflation of 1.16 percent with a CPI of 106.76 and Baubau City also experienced inflation of 1.03 percent with a CPI of 105.28.
  • Inflation occurred due to the increase in the price index in the transportation group by 2.36 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group 2.18 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group 1.09 percent; private groups and other services 0.65 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group 0.25 percent; clothing and footwear group 0.13 percent; the health group and the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups respectively 0.06 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group of 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the education group and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group did not experience any change/relatively stable.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation include air transportation, mackerel/bloated fish/banyar fish/gembolo fish/aso-aso fish, kite fish/benggol fish, skipjack tuna/scale fish, katamba fish, squid, 4-wheeled vehicle tariffs online, milkfish/sponge fish, baronang fish and children's toys.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation include rice, cayenne pepper, shallots, bottled water, bananas, tomatoes, red chilies, biscuits, pears and cell phones.
