The rice harvest area in 2020 is estimated at 132.99 thousand hectares, an increase of 0.64 thousand hectares or 0.49 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 132.34 thousand hectares.
Rice production in 2020 is estimated at 539.35 thousand tons of GKG, an increase of 19.65 thousand tons or 3.78 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 519.71 thousand tons of GKG.
If the potential for rice production in 2020 is converted into rice for food consumption by the population, rice production in 2020 is estimated at 308.14 thousand tons, an increase of 11.22 thousand tons or 3.78 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 296.92 thousand tons.
